Eppendorf® twin.tec PCR板的優勢源于兩種材料的結合：孔是由聚丙烯原材料生產的，這也是用于PCR管較成功的材料；聚碳酸酯，一種特別堅硬的材料構成板的框架和裙邊。這個一體化設計由于采用先進的注射模制技術（Twin-shot 技術）而實現。
聚碳酸酯提高了twin.tec PCR板的機械穩定性和操作簡便性。其高硬度的特點改善了PCR之前、反應過程中、之后板框架的平行性，確保了更好的密封性。較小的裙邊松垂度是使用自動系統和連接機器人的較好選擇。這些所有的特性也同樣適用于手動操作的分子生物學工作，成批可靠的PCR結果已經證明了這一成果。
