   Its embaressing to know only english while the rest of the world knows atleast 2 o 3 Idiomas. however chinese is on the bottem of my list. . . i plan on learning french, swedish, Polaco?

   It never hurts to know another language. And I am proficient in both English and Mandarin (Chino).

   It doesn’t hurt to learn but honestly with the amount of time you’ll spend just studying Chinese characters you could easily become proficient in 2 o 3 other languages. Just because a country becomes more economically prosperous doesn’t mean it will suddenly start exporting its culture to the US.

   I think that students should be exposed to many types of languages growing up, so that they can determine themselves if they want to learn another language.

   China se acerca rápidamente, for those of you that don’t know they are going to be a giant within a decade. Even Obama has made U.S. – Asia relations one of his top priorities during his visit there and for a good reason. I have many non-chinese actually non-asian peers that are now studying Chinese in order to do well in business.
