Is there some language learning software out there similar to Rosetta Stone software but far less expensive or is there another brand of language software superior to Rosetta Stone and less expensive?

Unfortunately many messengers such as Yahoo chat! doesn’t have such place. Even if I want to chat, most of people don’t assist, because nearly all them are looking for personal interest that usually is not language learning and usually is about copulation.

I am interested in learning several languages (including Korean and Chinese), but the better-known language courses can be expensive. I’m really hoping there are respectable and helpful sites that are available to the public. . .
I’m currently saving up to buy a language learning thing, but I want to start learning as fast as possible.
What’s the best way to start learning a new language while I am saving, in other words for free?

I’m interested in learning Mandarin Chinese, and I want to find a language learning program that will teach me quickly and efficiently. I’ve heard that Rosetta Stone is the best, but I don’t want to spend $500 on a program that isn’t top notch. So what would you recommend?
